  Urs does my split end burning treatment. It's some brazilian technique and I have never been happier. In the past, my hair wouldn't grow longer than one length (get it cut, more split end, cut again = vicious cycle). Urs saved me! my hair is almost to my butt and I only need a cut/burn every 6 months now :-) Erica is also a very big sweetie!

  I am feeling so much gratitude that I have found Erika & Urs at Strands Hair & Skin Treatment. They have a quaint salon in trendy Gastown and they are both so down to earth and talented. I got a flame haircut by Urs and it "Rocks OUT LOUD"... my hair looks amazing with no split ends... I finally found a way to get rid of them as I have very long hair... Last month Erika did a Brazilian Blowout on my hair and the results were just as amazing... please, please try them out... you will never go anywhere else, promise!

  I cannot be more disappointed in the quality of the dye job I received from Strands. My experience there was pleasant and I enjoyed speaking with Urs and his wife (they are great people) however my hair turned out terribly. I expected that by going downtown I would get a better quality product. I requested a balyage/ombre on my light brown hair. I was in the chair for over 4 hours and ended up with a disaster on my head! Instead of natural looking highlights/balyage as requested, I ended up with chunky, obvious, patchy, uneven, yellow streaks. I was mortified! I ended up going back to my usual stylist for help - she was overwhelmed by the poor quality and wasn't sure if she could even fix my hair! I ended up paying over $300 to have the colour and damage corrected and still I will need to go for at least another appointment to truly cover up Strand's mistakes. I will not be going back to Strands for any reason and I suggest that if you are looking for a quality colour job (but I cannot speak to Strands' other services), do not waste your money here.

  Wow, does this guy know hair! My first visit to Strands, Urs explained why my hair was damaged, and what needed to be done to get it back to health. Extremely knowledgable, uses only safer products. Results are always amazing! I receive compliments on the cut and colour every time. Highly recommend this salon!

  Urs and Erika are always the "highlight" of the month! :) Each time I go in, i don't usually have a plan for my hair, but Urs tends to create something which turns into a masterpiece! I always leave happy, my hair is shiny, perfectly coulored and ready to show it off! Erika leaves me with relaxed with an amazing scalp massage that makes you want to come back for more! I've been going to Strands for 25 years and I wouldn't change my ways!! Thank you!!
