  After much back and forth, they agreed to give me a refund, but only after I showed up at the shop demanding for one. Initially, they proposed to find me another ring and substitute it for the one that they damaged. Once more, I spoke to Mary, and not to the person who had supposedly broken and replaced the stone on the ring.

  Then, picking up my ring and checking out the engraving - which was nice...I thought nothing of it. It wasn't until I WAS PROPOSING TO MY FIANCE, literally during the proposal, that we noticed the stone on the face of the ring had been completely replaced with a new one. It is still undetermined if they had replaced the entire ring in the process. This was done without any consultation, notice, or apology. They had simply hoped that we wouldn't be the wiser.

  IMMEDIATELY after proposing, I wrote to them asking what had happened and if they had replaced the stone without asking me. It was only then that they admitted to what happened.

  amazing service. local & independently owned. hard to find this kind of service and quality anymore. have used these guys for engraving many times for VIP and corporate gifts. i highly recommend them. their attention to detail and thoughtfulness is better than anyone else out there.

  Great experience, professional grade work! She engraved a gold locket for me. She helped me figure out a design, made suggestions etc. I love the locket that much more now and can’t wait to gift it to my niece. Reasonable price!

  I'd initially gone to The Engraving Place based on the positive reviews listed on Google. When I first visited, the owner/manager (?) of the shop, Mary, dealt with taking my engraving order and she was wonderful and easy to deal with. I was bringing in my engagement ring (a silver, hand engraved band with an intaglio stone signet) for a custom hand engraving and had typeset the words in detail, which had cost extra but would have been well worth it.

  I have been a repeat customer of this business. They engraved Tiffany silver ornaments for our kids' first Christmases. Both were very well done. Turn around was prompt and pricing very competitive. Will definitely go back with future business.

  If you have an item as personal and hard to find as a sentimental heritage or bespoke piece, I would not trust this establishment to handle your piece with care. Proceed with extreme caution.
