  I sent in my application with its complex and copious requirements - as if anyone wants to go to Brazil and not return. ALL paperwork was correct but I mistakenly sent a cheque that was not certified. Instead of simply picking up the phone and calling me to suggest I forward a money order by separate post they packed off ALL of my application material and sent them back to me 2 weeks later, ending my ability to use my passport to travel into the US early next month, marking the ONE item as insufficient, forcing me to the waste of paying the postage costs all over again. I was going to have everything hand-delivered by a friend but no one ever answers a call at this Consulate so I doubt they are even around if someone shows up. Given Brazil's massive political and fiscal problems you'd think they would want to encourage travellers, not discourage them. Why they require Visa's from Canadians I have no idea, anyway. MOST disappointed with this bureaucratic disrespect and indifference.

  Mixed review.. There was no updates to my application so I was unable to track the status of my visa request. Having said that, I am impressed at how quickly it was approved and returned. I was a little disappointed that my request for a multiple 5 year visa not given but happy none the less that I can go visit :)

  In the beginning of 2017 we had a family urgency and needed to have our passports renewed as last minute. We should have these document ready for a travel but did not, nevertheless the Consulate General of Brazil in Vancouver, as well as the Honorary Consular Officer in Calgary, did their best service possible.
