Solid hostel. Staff are super nice - accommodating. Facilities are actually really spacious; big bathrooms, nice guestrooms. There's a common room with a fair amount of space for cooking or reading, and you're always a flight of stairs away from the bar, which doesn't get too noisy, even upstairs.

I'm sure it's a great place, probably more decent during the evening/night but did not have a good first experience to recommend it for breakfast :(

They played different versions of that Johnny Cash song "Ring of Fire" ... over and over, back to back. It wasn't even funny.... just terrible.

Weekend evenings, the place clears out and becomes a bar. They have plenty of bouncers, some of whom stand on the tables to oversee the crowds. I guess they have a lot of fights here?

The staff working the bar are horrible and have no sense of customer service.

Went in on a quiet sunday for breakfast/brunch and we were forgotten almost as soon as we arrived. There was NO ONE in here and we had to basically serve ourselves. There must have been 5 people behind the bar and for some reason, none of them were serving us.

Wont be back, this place is the worst. The food is very plain and the staff just don't care. The only good thing about this place is the patio but good luck getting served!

So, I'm usually used to German bars... but this bar was really amazing. I went there with a friend and we had a nice chat with other people. The staff was also very helpful in sorting out what beer to choose. ;)

prices are very decent but the waitress/waiters don't seem very friendly at all. Went for breakfast and barely got a smile and got your condiments thrown on the table. Ordered breakfast with bacon and I almost threw up because of the grease and taste.

Really nice, though the music was a bit too loud!

This is an odd place. It's a bar/restaurant attached to a hostel. The crowd is generally younger, and you get a lot of travelers, which tend to be more friendly and open than Vancouverites.
